Learn English through cinema

Movies for A2 English Learners

A2 learners can follow clear plots and repeated everyday language, especially when the story is already familiar. These matches limit the share of vocabulary above your level.

How to use these movies

Keep English subtitles on and note phrases that repeat. After watching, describe the plot aloud in five simple sentences to turn passive understanding into active English.

These are relative matches from subtitle vocabulary—not official CEFR ratings. Accent, speed, background noise, and your familiarity with the story also affect comprehension.

How these recommendations are selected

Avocado Cinema analyzes the English subtitle vocabulary of each film. Recommendations favor a strong share of A2 vocabulary, limit language above the selected level, and exclude films with very low audience ratings or too few votes. The result is a starting point—not a promise that every scene will feel equally easy.
